There are some monsters in these waters!
After breakfast we’ll collect our lunch packs and head off into the desert! We’ll be out all day, moving along the coast. We return to the lodge the afternoon. Dinner at the lodge included. LDBB.
These days will follow the first, exploring the coast for those special spots! We stay at Cape Cross for this time. With our daily travels along the coast we might just see some beach visitors! Hyena, jackal and recently the desert lions have discovered seals on the beach! Nature conservation has now introduced a ‘green fence’. The desert lions are collared and along the coast there are now beacons that are activated when the lions come through, this way they are avoiding human/cat encounters. But there are also the desert elephants that move along the rivers! They have been noticed close to the beaches as well, so could make for interesting fishing! LDBB.
Above is a link for more info on the lions!
Today we depart the lodge after breakfast and head back to Swakopmund. We’ll check into the 4* Hansa Hotel in town, with dinner at one of the many restaurants for own account. BB
Brauhaus in Swakopmund
Today we have many optional activities to choose from! There is deep sea fishing, or maybe a scenic flight across the Namib Dune Sea to Sossusvlei! Or just relax in town! These options can be discussed with your guide.
Dinner tonight at the Brauhaus! As Swakop was originally a holiday resort for the German colonists more than a 100 years ago, it still carries a rich German presence that can also be seen in the architecture! BB
