Arrive Johannesburg airport in the morning, meet your Getaway guide in arrivals hall and then depart for the Panorama route. We overnight in Pilgrims Rest at the Royal Hotel (1873) Pilgrims is a historical museum village depicting the gold rush era of 1873. Afternoon at leisure to visit the many stores. Dinner included. Depart after breakfast and visit the African Silk factory in Graskop, then we travel to Wonder View, on the edge of the escarpment. Then it’s the ‘potholes’ and the Blyde River Canyon, the 3rd largest in the world! From here we descend the escarpment to the Lowveld and on to the Kruger National Park. We game view on our way to the lodge in Kruger. DBB.
Early depart from our camp, breakfast en-route. We stop at other camps inside Kruger before reaching the southern gate at Malelane in the afternoon. Here we book into a lodge on the banks of the Crocodile River which forms the southern border of Kruger. A la carte dinner for own account at the restaurant that overlooks Kruger! BB.
This morning we depart for an early bush walk in Kruger with a ranger! Midday departure for a Swazi Village for some traditional song and dance! Light lunch at the village included. This evening we depart on a night drive in Kruger including a bush braai! This braai (BBQ) is held somewhere in the bush in Kruger!! DBB.
Last day in Kruger to find the one that got away! Dinner at the restaurant. BB.
Leisure morning. Depart afternoon for flight to Cape Town. Arrive at Cape Town airport and transfer to your hotel on the promenade in Sea Point, close to the V&A Waterfront. Dinner this evening in Camps Bay at one of the many restaurants on the beach! BB.
Today we’ll visit Table Mountain, take a trip to Cape Point and see the penguins en route! This evening we visit one of the restaurants in the waterfront. BB.
Today we travel to Stellenbosch and Franschoek and visit the famous wine farms. We overnight in Stellenbosch. BB.
This morning we leave for Hermanus and whale watching! We spend the day in Hermanus. The afternoon we return to Stellenbosch via the Franschoek mountain pass! Dinner at one of the restaurants is the area. BB (Whale season is May to November).
This morning we visit the Cape Malay quarters in the ‘Bo Kaap’. Later we spend the day at the Waterfront for some shopping! Depart to airport the afternoon for flight out. END.
Instead of flying down to Cape Town, there is the option of taking the Premium Class Trans-Karoo train journey down to Cape Town; this is an overnight from Johannesburg to Cape Town, the train departs 15h00 from Johannesburg and arrives 15h00 the following day in Cape Town. For this option we would leave one day earlier for Cape Town. DBB included on train. There is no price difference!
