Fanjove Private Island

Fanjove is a small island lying off the coast of Tanzania and part of the Songo-Songo archipelago in southern Tanzania
Simplicity is the key and this brilliant, private island is our idea of utopia.
The newly rebuilt rooms are rustic, yet luxurious. Each of the 10 new villas have their own private beach pavillion with sunbeds and the essence of being open to the outside paradise is not lost.
The beach is one of the best in East Africa and definitely beats any of the mainland or Zanzibar beaches. For snorkelers the coral reef presents a chance to explore some as-yet unvisited areas, and sunset dhow cruises, kayaking, sandbank picnics, and paddle-boarding, are your typical activities on offer at Fanjove.

The food and service are excellent, with fresh fish caught almost every day and cooked in a blend of Swahili and Western style. The newly refurbished 19th century lighthouse has been transformed into a signature restaurant which acts as a perfect spot to also enjoy a sunset cocktail. .
