49 Day Southern Africa Overland
This safari traverses Southern Africa starting from Cape Town, travelling north up the West coast for a trek with donkey carts for 3 days along the coast, then further onto the Richtersveld and the Orange river, here we float down the river through the Richtersveld National Park to Sendlingsdrift where we meet the vehicle again and then travel into Namibia and onto the Fish River canyon. From the Canyon we head to the Gemsbok National Park, part of the Kgalagadi transfrontier park for 3 days game viewing, exiting at Mata Mata and back into Namibia. The next stop is at Sossusvlei in the dune sea for 2 days.
Then onto Swakopmund via the Namib and Kuiseb canyon for a few days. From Swakop the safari travels further North past the Brandberg and onto Kamanjab where the Himba people are visited, then onto Etosha for game viewing for a few days.
Traveling east from Etosha to the land of the Bushman people, whom we meet and then stil further east to Botswana and the Okavango delta. Here we transfer to boats for 6 days floating down the Okavango through the Delta to Maun, camping overnight on islands on the way.
From Maun the safari heads for Chobe in the North of Botswana for more game viewing before entering Zimbabwe and the Victoria Falls for a few days. From Vic Falls the safari now heads South to Hwange National Park. From Hwange the safari travels further south to Pafuri and the Kruger National Park in South Africa. A few days is spent in Kruger before departing for Beline on the Mozambique coast via the Transfrontier park. From the coast to Maputo, overnight Thanda Nani Game lodge, then to the Blyde river canyon and onto Johannesburg where the safari ends after 7 weeks. Traveling is in an airconditioned 4x4 bus while camping in tents. A driver/guide and cook will accompany the safari. Breakfast & dinner included. All entrance fees, excursions as indicated are included.
DAY 1
Arrive Cape Town airport and transfer to the vehicle and head for the West coast. |
DAY 2
Arrive at Groen rivier mouth on the coast, transfer to the Donkey carts and depart up the coast, camp along the coast. |

We leave the coast and head inland for the Richtersveld National Park, here we transfer to our boats for a trip down the orange river, overnighting on the riverbanks. |

Another day along the river. |

Arrive at Sendlingsdrift and transfer to the vehicle and travel on to the Fish river canyon in Namibia. |

Visit the canyon |
DAY 9
Depart the canyon and head for the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, overnight Tweerivieren in the Park. |
DAY 10
Game viewing to Nossob, overnight Tweerivieren.

Leave the Park and enter Namibia again, heading west for Sossusvlei. |

Visist the dunes |

Leave Sossusvlei and head for Swakopmund via the Namib desert. |
